How to upgrade to Web Scraper 5.5 or above?

Web Scraper 5.5 and above uses larger database, SQL2k5 express, instead of the SQL 2000 MSDE. This allows you [How can I extract fields or columns longer than 8000 characters|extract fields over 8000 characters] into varchar(max) column types. Other features included are dataset within dataset and auto-update.

Instructions to upgrade:

If you have SQL databases you wish to keep:
#Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and stop the MSSQL$PROVIDUSSTD service.
#Locate the .mdf and .ldf files for the databases in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$PROVIDUSSTD\Data or somewhere similar.
#Copy them into another folder, i.e. C:\Databases so that you can attach them later.

To upgrade:
#Uninstall Web Scraper Plus+
#Uninstall all references to MSDE in Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs
#Go to Start -> Run -> Regedit: 
##Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Microsoft SQL Server
##Double click InstalledInstances and remove "PROVIDUSSTD" if its in the list that comes up.
##In the left pane, under Microsoft SQL Server, delete the PROVIDUSSTD folder.
#Download and install the latest version of Web Scraper Plus+(Trial and Full Version) on our [http://www.velocityscape.com/Downloads.aspx|downloads page]
#If you have issues, refer [http://wswiki.velocityscape.com/AllPages.aspx?Cat=Install%20Issues|here].
#Then open Web Scraper Plus+ import any packages and datapages you exported earlier.
#If you copied your database mdf and ldf files, do the following to restore them:
##Download and install [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C243A5AE-4BD1-4E3D-94B8-5A0F62BF7796&displaylang=en|Sql Management Studio] if you don't already have it.
##Connect to the .\PROVIDUSSTD server instance with SQL Server authentication, username: sa  password: velocityscape
##Expand the PROVIDUSSTD instance in the left pane (Object Explorer) and right click databases -> attach.
##Locate the mdf files in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$PROVIDUSSTD\Data or if not there, where you backed them up.
