Cannot Connect to SQL Database or other database error

Web Scraper Plus+ comes installed with a SQL Server database instance named PROVIDUSSTD. There was an upgrade from SQL Server 2000 to 2005 in Web Scraper Plus+ version 5.5. 

The installation of SQL Server is hidden by the Web Scraper Plus+ installer and therefore errors which occur during the install of SQL Server can go unseen, not allowing them to be properly handled and leaving SQL Server improperly installed. We provide a manual installation file that allows you to see the SQL installation and handle any problems that occur. 

To manually install:
#Download the CD version of Web Scraper Plus at http://www.velocityscape.com/Downloads.aspx
#Extract to C:\WebScraperPlusCD
#Follow the manual install instructions under C:\WebScraperPlusCD\ManualInstall
